Please join us for a blood drive at Whitmer on Saturday, March 29, (9 am-2pm)! Visit RedCrossBlood.org to schedule an appointment. The American Red Cross has lost over 10,000 liters of blood donations because of the wildfires, so help 2 WHS Seniors meet their goal!

March is National Nutrition Month - a time to remember to take care of our families and ourselves by practicing healthy eating habits. PARENT SHOUT:
"Mrs. Kovin (Meadowvale 4th grade) is such a positive light! She is not only a phenomenal teacher but she allows her students to put fun into learning. She does so many hands-on activities & projects to enhance subject matter & so many extra fun things in her class that students will have many core memories from - one of those being the Eagle News. Students get to pick different topics and do news broadcasts in front of a green screen and Mrs. Kovin then incorporates a corresponding background behind them. The kids love it!
As a parent I am so thankful for the extra mile she goes. My daughter absolutely loves coming to school just to see her. She has thrived academically this year and that is because Mrs. Kovin has instilled a love for learning in her. It is clear Mrs. Kovin loves her job and I am so thankful for the active interest she takes in her students.”
All of those 'extras' add up to a LOT of the further development of a learner's mindset. Thank you Ms. Kovin for ALL you do!

PARENT SHOUT:
"I wanted to submit a staff shout out regarding Mr. Ben Albert at Hiawatha. He has been my son's teacher now for the last two years and was his student teacher the year before that. During this time Mr.Albert has been able to develop such an amazing relationship with my son, which is difficult to do. This last weekend Mr. Albert came to my son's Cub Scout crossover ceremony to support him. Crossover is the biggest ceremony in Cub Scouts because it is when the 5th grade scouts choose which troop they will crossover to. My son chose three people outside of the family to invite to the event and Mr. Albert was one of them and showed up. The joy on my son's face will be something I will always remember. Mr.Albert goes above and beyond during the school day and outside of school. I appreciate all of the amazing dedication Mr. Albert has not only given my son but the other students at Hiawatha."
These stories make our hearts sing for our students. Thank you Mr. A!

PARENT SHOUT:
"My boy Maximus was admitted into the hospital and went through surgery. He spent the week at the hospital and all his friends in kindergarten in Mrs Brown's class at Silver Creek made him 'get well soon' cards. He was SO excited to open them all up when he got home! I'm just so thankful he's in Silver Creek. I'm so grateful for all his friends and awesome teachers and the incredible support staff in the building, being by his side. We just love Silver Creek. Puma Pride!"
There is no feeling like knowing your child is loved and Silver Creek does it SO WELL!

COMMUNITY SHOUT:
"I need to shout out Logan Rupp, school counselor at Washington. This is a perfect example of someone going above and beyond in WLS- just because it’s the right thing to do. This student was in WLS but moved out of the district. Ms. Rupp not only clearly made her feel safe while she was attending Washington, but went above and beyond to make contact with TPS to make sure her transition was as smooth as possible. When an 8th grader goes out of her way to email her former school counselor to thank her for making her feel safe and comfortable at her new school, it speaks volumes. Going above and beyond is what Logan Rupp does everyday for her students. The students at Washington are fortunate to have Miss Logan Rupp in their corner!"
What an impact Ms. Rupp makes on her students! We are SO lucky to have her!

Pickleball is storming the world and our Job Training students got to see it first-hand, accepting an invitation to learn about Toledo Pickle Co, the brand new facility in Toledo! Students attended a volunteer event in gratitude for our volunteerism with the Metroparks.
This awesome place has a full restaurant and bar open 7 days a week for a *late* breakfast, lunch and dinner, pickleball courts, cornhole, arcade games, a rock climbing wall, and ping pong all packed into a really neat environment.
Our really cool students got to see a really cool new Toledo place!
