Tennis Camp this week was filled with swings, serves and a whole lot of SWEETNESS!
Check out what our Meadowvale 4th graders raised after building, running &selling products from their own lemonade stands! These wonderful charities all received donations ! What a beautiful example of empathy, critical thinking and a whole lot of learners' mindsets!

She not only is present inside the classroom but also outside of the classroom supporting her students in any sports or extra curricular activities. She doesn’t miss a beat and is always thinking of new and exciting things to make sure the kids have fun. Any question I’ve ever had, was answered immediately, she’s great at communicating and reminding of important dates. She is so patient, kind, and caring. She advocates for her little kids, and it shows. If it wasn’t for her constant support for my son, hard work in creating new ways to help him learn, and include him, I’m certain we wouldn’t have made it! It takes a special person to be a teacher, and behind every child who believes in themselves, there is a teacher who believed in them first- and that is Mrs. Fellers."

"Kelly Lopez is an extraordinary teacher! Kelly not only teaches her 5th graders with care and compassion, but she also takes on 1/2 of the head teacher responsibilities. "I want to give a shout out to Mr Bernhardt, principal of Hiawatha. As a parent volunteer, I have seen Mr Bernhardt wear so many different hats. From principal, to tutor, to teacher, to mentoring, and to being such a good sport for all the kids. He continuously goes above and beyond for Hiawatha and the entire community. We are so lucky to have him at our little school and WLS is blessed to have him as such an amazing role model to these kids. He never loses patience and always shows grace, no matter the adversity."

"Coach Stefanie Dellaflora is an amazing person and a great addition to Whitmer high school and the wrestling world. She goes above and beyond for the wrestlers and students at the school. I want to thank her for always being here and being someone the kids can trust and for pushing them to be the best they can be, most importantly for believing in them! Thank you for recognizing and pointing out when they do something right, when they make improvements, and for celebrating with them when they achieve something, even when it's something small. "Mr. John at Shoreland is always looking for fun to be had - with students or staff! In this picture, he can be seen playing Simon Says with all of our bussers at the end of each day. They absolutely love him and giggle at his goofy antics. We so appreciate Mr. John stepping in to help and reminding us that a day is never wasted that includes laughter."

"I never knew how to give a hug until I met Tracy Gladieux. She holds on tight and makes you feel that, for that moment, nothing else matters. That is true friendship and kindness. Students at Hiawatha line up to see Mrs. Gladieux in the morning to start their day. Tracy remembers so many names and makes every student that comes to see her feels special. It's a pleasure to call her a friend and colleague!"
Those are some LUCKY students and staff to have someone so kind and connective in their daily lives!

"What doesn't Will Weaver do? He saves so many of us DAILY, just with technology alone. He has to patiently work with frazzled and stressed teachers, calming their days magically just by a few clicks. He rarely doesn't have an answer and if he doesn't at the moment, he'll find one. We are so incredibly grateful for him - day in and day out!"
Our tech crew might be 'behind-the-scenes,' but their work is VERY front-and-center!

"Chelsea DePompei is an incredible teacher, a wonderful coworker, and one of the most organized people you will ever meet. She is compassionate and caring, and builds fantastic connections with her students. Chelsea takes great pride in the organization of her classroom, and teaches these skills to her students. Chelsea has been teaching third grade at Hiawatha for 5 years, and I've been lucky to have been a classroom aide twice. She runs a very well-rounded classroom, and the students love her. Chelsea is smart, beautiful, caring, and a great teacher. She truly deserves a staff shoutout."

"We would like to shoutout Mr. David Lenz! Last year, he stood by Christian on the field as his track coach and this year transitioned to the role of his honors Geometry teacher. Mr. Lenz sees the potential in each of his students and isn't afraid to be honest with them. Today, at the Whitmer track meet, his presence was felt once again as he cheered on Christian and the team with unwavering enthusiasm.
