Before the student even stepped through the door, Mrs. McCorkle had already organized a student welcoming committee, ensured the student had a clear space, and arranged for peer buddies to offer a friendly greeting, guide them through the school, and sit with them at lunch. Her proactive effort demonstrates a true commitment to building an inclusive and supportive classroom community."

She helped break him out of his shell and helped him make some pretty great friends by facilitating a classroom culture of family that was unmatched. Even though he’s moved on to the next grade, she has made such a significant impact on our family and his perspective of a new school. When they were asked to draw their Heart Maps (people and things that they hold dear), Mrs. Kerr was included on his map, which was so well-deserved. She has an amazing gift, and we are so lucky to have her in this district!"
