REMINDER for Tomorrow (Friday 4/24)

PARENT SHOUT:
"Mrs. Forche (Monac, 1st grade) is such an inspiring educator. She sees the potential in students even when they don’t yet see it in themselves. Her patience and passion for reading helped my daughter blossom into a more confident reader. I’m so thankful my daughter will always remember having a first grade teacher who created such a warm and inclusive environment for her at school. Mrs.Forche is a true gem!"
When an educator is patient and consistent, parents notice. Students notice.
And we definitely notice Ms. Forche!

STAFF SHOUT:
"Whitmer JH boys and girls track and field teams would love to thank Bus Drivers, Jennifer Loomis and Holly Martin for getting both teams to Napoleon for our track meet last Wednesday in some of the roughest conditions imaginable that popped up out of nowhere! They are true masters at what they do!"
Driving calmly in adverse conditions is a skill in itself, but doing it with dozens of children on board is an ART!

Today on "Scoop with the Supt," we sit down with journalism advisor Colleen Sergent and four talented 8th grade student reporters from Jefferson to talk about their exciting work in the school’s journalism program. The students share what they’ve learned about writing, reporting, and teamwork while producing the Jefferson newspaper (The Panther Public), and how they’re using creativity and social media to keep their classmates informed and engaged. It’s a fun conversation about student voice, real-world skills, and the power of storytelling.

We are grateful for those who give so selflessly to our schools, students and staff!

PARENT SHOUT:
"My daughter is on the JH track team and the coaches put her in throwing, a new thing to her, as she has never done it before. Tonight she was in her 1st track invitational and Whitmer teacher and Coach Curt Hartman has taken her under his wing and been working with her so much. Today at the meet, he took extra time to spend with her to improve her form. He has not only given my daughter a positive role model but has made her love throwing. He takes his time to show her what she needs to improve on and what she is doing right! He also coached both of my sons. Whitmer has such a positive role model in Coach Hartman!"
Mr. Hartman is one of the kindest, most helpful people. We are so proud he represents WLS!

PARENT-TO-STAFF SHOUTOUT:
"Shoutout to Matt Durham, Social Studies teacher at Washington Junior High! You have an incredible gift for bringing the past to life—making it engaging and meaningful for your students. Junior high isn’t always the easiest age to keep engaged, but your passion and dedication truly shine through. Thank you for going the extra mile and making history something students don’t just learn—but actually enjoy. You make the past a total blast!"
Making the past a blast sounds like a class we ALL want to take!
