😎BRIGHT MINDS WORKING!
4th graders in Miss. Browder’s class are ready to glow on the Math OST next week! They spent the day having a glow day while reviewing things they have learned this year and playing games!

STAFF-TO-STAFF SHOUTOUT:
"This is a huge shout out to Shoreland student, Ali, and Shoreland principal, Mr. Bott. To further connect with his student, Mr. Bott joined Ali in fasting for Ramadan during the entire month of March. Ali made sure to check-in daily with Mr. Bott and both became great accountability partners for each other. The daily conversations of perseverance, accountability, self-discipline, and integrity became so much more than fasting, leading to incredible life lessons for BOTH of them! Huge kudos to both of these gentlemen for going the extra mile, in and out of school!"
Adults who invest in kids' lives make a lifelong impact - and the rewards for BOTH are monumental! We love letting the student become the teacher! Way to go Mr. Bott!

Whether the day is up or the day feels down,
our paras are always the BEST around.
Measure on charts or track them on grids,
these loving employees are the BEST for our kids!
HAPPY SCHOOL PARA DAY!

PRESCHOOL NEWS:

PARENT/STAFF SHOUT:
"Meadowvale Intervention Specialist, Katelyn Wudel is well deserving of this shout-out. Miss Wudel drove to Chicago to visit family, and took time out of her trip to attend a student's cheer competition, staying for the entire time to support. This type of investment that Miss Wudel gives to her students is the norm. Miss Wudel not only provides support and instruction in the classroom, but goes above and beyond by attending games, dance recitals, competitions, and school-sponsored events, constantly showing up for her current and former students to let them know she cares. We are so lucky to have her!"
What an incredible gesture of support and love to show a student, even hundreds of miles away. WOW!

📏MEASURING MINDS! 📏
The students in Mrs. Stacy's 6th grade math classes at Monac created structures using 6 different nets as part of a Surface Area Unit. This lesson helped solidify the concept of looking at a flat net of a 3D shape and visualizing what the shape would look like in real life. They were then tasked with calculating the surface area of their entire structure!
😊They rocked it and had so much fun while learning a challenging concept.

Parent Shout:
“I want to give a shoutout to Hiawatha’s art teacher, Ms. Wheaton-Rodriguez. She graciously volunteered to help with the Hiawatha Make and Take that the Parents Club does for Kindergarten thru 3rd graders. This year it was a ‘cookies and canvas’ event. She was absolutely AMAZING. She took her time and even prepared slideshows to teach the kids how to make their canvases. This is an after-school event and she really showed how much she cares for our kids. We are so lucky to have her at our school!”
Ms. Wheaton-Rodriguez exemplifies every aspect of our Portrait of Team Member and everyone benefits from her collaborative attitude! Thank you Ms. W-R!

STAFF SHOUT:
"I want to shout out Ms. Singleton (Whitmer English) for all she does. She is an excellent teacher who is warm and welcoming to all her students. She organizes all the ticket sales for every music, theatre and sporting event at Whitmer. She encourages students who want to be teachers. She stays at school late to make sure her classes' grades are always up to date, announces for sporting events and she even helps with the school talent show. When you think of a teacher who exemplifies all the hard work and FUN this job can include - Ms.Singleton is the perfect example."
If you have worked with Ms. S, you know her relentless pursuit of excellence. We are so grateful for the work of this Panther!

Please join us for a blood drive at Whitmer this Saturday, March 29, (9 am-2pm) Visit RedCrossBlood.org to schedule an appointment. The American Red Cross has lost over 10,000 liters of blood donations because of the wildfires, so help our 2 seniors meet their goal!
