STUDENT SHOUT:
"Mr. Eric Brown made sure the students that wanted to succeed did. He never gave up on us (even if we wanted to give up on ourselves.) He truly cares about what he does. I appreciate everything he did for me!"
STAFF SHOUT:
"Eric absolutely deserves the biggest round of applause! He’s taken on one of the toughest (and most important!) jobs in education — Assistant Principal at Jefferson Junior High — and he’s crushing it. 🙌 Whether he’s supporting staff, connecting with students, or juggling the many hats this role demands, Eric does it all with energy, empathy, adaptability, and heart. He truly lives and breathes what’s best for kids, and it shows every single day. 💙Here’s to you, Eric — keep making magic happen! 🥳👏 "

The gifted eduaction in WLS is TOP NOTCH and our students reaching higher and achieving bigger is PROOF!

6th graders in Ms. Wheaton-Rodriguez's art class at Hiawatha have been busy creating ceramic fortune cookies! Students have reflected on their work and creative process, while also practicing how to respectfully critique their classmates’ artwork using the “Stars & Wishes” method — Stars being what they liked, and Wishes being things they would improve for next time.
To celebrate their hard work, students enjoyed a real fortune cookie treat and compared their handwritten fortunes to the real ones — a fun and thoughtful way to wrap up the project!

PARENT SHOUT:
"Both Mr. Villar and Miss Rupp went above and beyond to ensure my daughters transition to Washington Jr. High was a successful and pleasant one! She and I were very nervous coming into this new situation and they took every concern we had and crushed it. I thought this year would be a very rough transition but due to their overwhelming kindness and due diligence it’s been a successful start so far! I can’t thank them enough! 💙💛
