Mr. Wexler is always willing to lend a helping hand and when a teacher or student needs something, he does what he can to be there and assist. He always has the most positive attitude and takes his time to check in with both the teachers and students. Mr. Wexler is an advocate for both our students and teachers. STAFF SHOUT: "I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate Taylor Wietrzykowski, our incredible new teacher in the Jefferson Panther Room! Since joining us this year, Taylor has shown an unwavering passion for supporting our friends with extra needs. Her dedication and enthusiasm are truly inspiring and she has made a significant impact on our students' growth and development! Keep shining!" Taylor has created an environment so warm, her students lovingly call her classroom "the cottage." What an awesome educator!

STAFF SHOUT: "Catie Riker is truly a gem to this district. Catie’s energy and enthusiasm are contagious to her Whitmer students and coworkers. She has never met a stranger and even students who don’t have her as a teacher know they can trust her because of her friendliness and inclusive actions. Catie works tirelessly on behalf of our students. Part of her job description is to link students with outside agencies and resources; in doing so, she has developed invaluable relationships within our community that benefit students even after graduation. Countless former students continue to contact her well into adulthood with questions and she never hesitates to guide them in the right direction. Every building should have a Catie Riker!" 💝💝💝 Catie Riker is joy personified and she makes everyone around her better! We are so lucky to have her!

STAFF SHOUT: "Mrs.Hessey has been a great addition to kindergarten at Greenwood! We love having her to help in our classroom!" Working with our littlest learners takes patience and care, which Ms. Hessey clearly has!

PARENT TO STAFF SHOUT: "I wanted to recognize Mr. Steve at Shoreland, who has been nothing short of amazing with Isaac. Isaac has bonded with him so quickly. Mr. Steve is not only a constant source of support for Isaac but also has quickly become Isaac’s “person”. To know that Isaac is understood and has someone with him that genuinely has also bonded with him while he is at school is one of the most comforting things a special needs parent could ever ask for❤️ And Mr. Steve needs an award for running the pumpkin run in his doc martens 😂 And also let me add that they ran the pumpkin run together, holding hands most of the way and I think it was the sweetest thing ever. Mr. Steve is truly so special." What an incredible feeling to know your child has bonded with a staff member!

STAFF SHOUT: "I want to recognize our amazing Panther room crew! (Not pictured Mr. Moore) this team has put so much work into what they do daily! The kids are happy and they are progressing with academics! There are so many tough days but you would NEVER know walking into that classroom. This team is always smiling, laughing and they work SO well together! Mrs. Hubell is so full of knowledge and is willing to help anyone not only in her Panther room but here at Greenwood! I’m proud and honored to call them my colleagues! They are doing a fantastic job!!" Finding joy in everyday work is so inspiring! Way to go Greenwood Panther Room crew!

STAFF SHOUT: "SHOUT OUT to Jen Gent, April McNamara, Jeff Christoffers, Maria Snodgrass, Lena Miller, Robin Bushmeyer, Curt Hartman, Andrew Lockard, and Brandon Bosch for your work representing the needs of all teachers, counselors, and psychologists while continuing to support your students each day. Thank you for all the time spent away from your family in service to students and staff!" These folks are leaders to students each day; how wonderful to also be known as a leader to colleagues! Thank you for your work!

STAFF SHOUT: "Lorie Johnson puts her all into her students' education. She is a great advocate for the them and for her department. Her leadership does not go unnoticed. We are lucky to have her!" No wonder students rave about the creative lessons of Lorie Johnson!

PARENT-TO-STAFF: "I have a shining star at WLS to highlight! I wanted to share how impressed I am with my daughter's science teacher at Washington, Ahren Jacobs. Recently, he took time to participate in an IEP team meeting and was so helpful; he answered my questions thoroughly. He helped me understand the areas she is doing well and where she could use extra support. My daughter’s disability challenges her to feel comfortable speaking in a group. Mr. Jacobs shared an example that she raised her hand in class to answer a question that none of the other students knew. He was so proud and complimentary towards her for sharing her knowledge with the class and coming out of her comfort zone. Thank you Mr. Jacobs for the gentleness and compassion you have provided to my daughter. I am very grateful that you are her teacher!" Making students feel comfortable and empowered = Way to go, Mr. Jacobs! 😊

She is always willing to learn and try new things to best support this kiddo. Emilie has been an instrumental part in this student's growth. She is absolutely awesome at what she does! THANK YOU EMILIE!" Building relationships with students is the most important part of the job and Ms. Ponke excels!

They willingly drive for field trips, to supplement our bus drivers, ensuring kiddos get to their sporting events. I appreciate these 3 so much! It takes everyone to make everything work and we are so grateful to them." Awesome! Thank you so much for all of your work!

STAFF-TO-STAFF SHOUTOUT: "Leighann Schroyer, or Miss Leighann as we call her, is a rockstar paraprofessional! Over the last three years she has worked with kindergarten students, taking the time to truly learn students and find the best ways to provide academic and behavior support. As a member of Meadowvale's Parent Club, Miss Leighann took on the task of researching, getting price quotes, and getting a company out here to get Meadowvale a new school sign! Regardless of her role, Miss Leighann can be counted on to provide support to students, families, staff, and the school as a role. We appreciate her for all she does!" And that new sign looks fabulous! Thank you Ms. Schroyer for all you do!
