Hiawatha's STREAM night was awesome! Families participated in activities and even did a family engineering challenge! All Hiawatha students in attendance got to select a new book and left with a math game to play at home with their families. Our winning family built a tower from index cards that was 73.5 inches tall! Special thanks to Patrick Troyer from the Lucas County Soil and Water Conservation District for coming and leading our families through a fun science activity exploring the water cycle. Additionally, special thanks to our community partners who supplied awesome prizes for our families: Savage and Associates, Imagination Station, Get Air Trampoline Park, and Urban Air Snapology Camp!

STAFF SHOUT: "Caring, passionate and giving are a few of the many special qualities Hope exemplifies. Her willingness to go above and beyond for students is evident in the many projects she has undertaken. She is the co-founder of Shoreland's "A Safe Place to Land" after-school program. This program allows students, across multiple grade levels, the opportunity to partake in new experiences, form friendships and have fun. Whether it's creating school spirit days, potluck luncheons or secret spirit activities, Hope finds ways for staff to have fun at school. Thanks for bringing JOY to so many." Leading with love is second-nature to this educator and her heart for kids is obvious; we are so fortunate to have this educator on staff!

STAFF SHOUT: "Teaching 2nd graders water safety is a tall task, and when you have students who need some extra accommodations, it can be a taller task at times; however, Meadowvale teacher Jodi Gordy is up for the job. She went each week for 8 weeks, and spent time, in the water, with each of her students as they learned water safety. Mrs. Gordy always goes the extra mile for her students and families." The gift of compassion is obvious in this educator at Meadowvale! How fortunate are her students!
