Latest Information on the District Construction - Update 1/12/2024
A Quick Summary :
In 2019, WLS Voters approved a 6.9-mill combined bond and operating levy, which meant if WLS contributed 20%, the state would cover the remaining 80% of all rebuild costs.
Shoreland and Silver Creek were both rebuilt and opened in 2022. paid for by our 20%.
The construction of all future schools will be funded by the OFCC, (Ohio Facilities Construction Commission) not local property tax dollars.
Whitmer Middle School is the next project for the district and the first build to be funded completely by the State. Its projected opening is Fall 2026 and will be located at the site of the current Erme Field.
