Intradistrict Transfers
District residents who would like their children to attend a Washington Local School other than their home school for the 2024-2025 school year may request transfer consideration by submitting an intra-district application. All completed applications should be sent to the EMIS Office at 3505 W. Lincolnshire, Toledo, Ohio 43606 or given to the secretary at your child's school. Transfer decisions are based upon building and grade level capacities and other established criteria. Preference for enrollment in any particular school is given to students living in the school's established attendance boundaries.
According to policy 5113.01, approval for intra-district enrollment will be granted for one (1) full school year and reviewed annually. Attendance, grades and behavior issues will all be taken into consideration when reviewing your child's intra-district transfer request each year.
Transportation for approved intra-district transfer students will continue to be the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
Washington Local's intra-district enrollment policy is in compliance with the state law which requires school districts to establish limited transfer opportunities within the school system. Decisions on intra-district transfers will be made in mid-August. You will be notified by mail prior to the start of the school year as to whether your intra-district application has been approved or not.
