How We Celebrate Birthdays at Shoreland

1. We will maintain the tradition of announcing birthdays during the morning announcements.

2. Following the morning announcements, students will be invited to visit the office to receive a book machine token from Mr. Bott, allowing them to select a new book, provided by the Shoreland Parent Club. Additionally, each student will be given a principal's pass, granting them the privilege of free choice for lunch and recess that day.

3. We will also continue to acknowledge half-birthdays to ensure that every Firebird has the opportunity to be recognized throughout the year.

4. Lastly, a family member or a special person in the student's life will have the opportunity to have lunch with their student during their designated lunch period in the cafeteria.

  • The family member may choose to bring in a special lunch (fast food) for their student. This will be the only opportunity for fast food or outside restaurant items to be brought onto school grounds. The food is only for the birthday student and not their classmates.

  • If you plan on having a birthday lunch with your student, you must complete the RSVP form with the name(s) of the adult(s) attending (no more than 2), and the preferred date of the visit. We understand that schedules can be challenging, and if you cannot attend on the actual birthday, we encourage you to coordinate another time during the birthday week. Please note that an RSVP is required for participation.

  • Due to food allergies, birthday treats may not be brought in for the whole class.
