Welcome to the Wernert Elementary School Web Site!
The Wernert Elementary School teachers and staff are eager to welcome our Wildcat families into the 2012-2013 school year. We have the privilege to educate over 300 students, preschool through sixth grade. Our teachers and staff partner with parents and valued community members to create an optimal learning experience for our students. Wernert Elementary School is enriched by the presence of a strong community with an outstanding history of supporting the mission of the Washington Local School District.
The "PAWS to Make a Difference" theme teaches and encourages the attributes of pride, attitude, work habits, and self control. These attributes are modeled, taught and celebrated daily motivating students to strive for excellence in the classroom, on the playground, and in the community. Additionally, the Wernert community embodies the district's adopted core values of courage, dedication, dignity, excellence, honesty, loyalty, respect, responsibility, service, teamwork and trust. The core values influence the daily actions, decisions, and words of the Wernert Community.
Wernert Elementary School has a dedicated team of teachers and staff who strive to meet the individual needs of our students while providing a well-rounded educational experience that focuses on the development of the whole child. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing our students with high quality instruction. As a result, teachers and staff collaborate daily; integrate technology within the curriculum; and use data to make well informed decisions. Our goal is to create an environment of learning that is conducive to all of our learners.
I look forward to serving you as a partner in your child's educational experience.
